Review: Greatest Rock&Rave circus

As I '!ACHTUNG!-ed' you all in my post at the 4th of November, The Greatest Rock&Rave circus came to Haarlem last night. As we somehow suspected it would be bonkers, Big D and me went and reviewed it for those unfortunate souls that couldn't make it.

We came in and were stunned by a middle-aged man in in a messed up circus-directors-costume with a loud-speaker in his hand. IT WAS SIR JOOST VAN BELLEN HIMSELF! Of course we could not have a fulfilled evening without having our picture taking with the big boss - see pic. above (FYI: a drugged up clown took our picture :P )

As we came in the 'big room' of the Patronaat and were beholding the amazing circus-like layout of the joint, Boemklatsch was warming up the crowd in there striped pyjamas. After that Melomanics rocked the stage with there guitar, keyboard and drums and created somewhat of a starting mosh-pit. Now everyone was loosened-up and the stage was cleared for the mighty moustache! Sir Van Bellen started his first round of record spinning madness with a pre-mature victory lap with his dubbed out wheeled walker.

JVB (Mr. Van Bellen) combined the sounds of the old and the new from rock to electro. He defined the name of the party in his set. His first round was followed by Aux Raus, which surprisingly got a grand opening applause. From that moment we knew it was going to be chaos with so many rockers in the building. Then uncle Joost got to his second round, yet again with outrageous side-show of drunken clowns. He closed his set with a thank you and a ballad with a 2,3 litre bottle of wodka and a the songtext of a song in his hand in font-size 2000.

Unfortunately we did not see the performance of Wannabe A Star.

The verdict: weird-ass bawesomeness.
