Best Of....

The Big S Noise team put together a top 10 of the best songs of this year. All Bawesome in their own way: some raw, some beautiful and some just totally in their own league. After countless hours of being brainf*cked by one song after another let our thoughts collide and the following is what emerged.

The list, in a random order.

-One of the hardest tracks made this year, Corporate Occult. Finnish DJ Huoratron with his grindcore like taste of music shocked us all with the New Judas EP. When a track like Corporate Occult is dropped on the dancefloor, it will only create one thing, pure chaos.

Huoratron - Corporate Occult (Original mix)

- Making Standing on the shore into a classic track is a real achievement. Dirty Disco Youth did it, and how, starting with the brilliant guitar riff which makes it the most relaxing summer evening track of 2009. Then after the lyrics, the beat kicks in and it turns into a Saturday night killer. One of the best remixes of this year.

Empire Of The Sun - Standing On The Shore (Dirty Disco Youth Remix)

- After releasing Warp 1.9 in April of this year, we all thought, could this get any better? Then in October at I Love Techno the answer came: it could. When we heard the beginning of Warp 1977 in the Bloody Beetroots set we were all stunned for a moment, but after the 1, 2, 3, MOTHAFUCKA, all hell broke loose. With the release of Xmas Vendetta the Bloody Beetroots sets the standard even higher. Warp 1977 intro is bawesome; Steve Aoki's raw voice and Sir Bob Rifo sick tunes just makes it better.

The Bloody Beetroots - Warp 1977(Ft. Steve Aoki and Bobermann

- After Hold The Line, Major Lazer A.K.A. Diplo and Switch produced a new Major track called Pon De Floor. This on its own is already booty shaking material, but the Chewy Chocolate Cookies fired it up with a A-team tune and a some extra bass.

Major Lazer - Pon de Floor (Chewy Chocolate Cookies Remix)

-The original was mind blowing, Steve Aoki's remix was even better. N.A.S.A.'s Gifted brought countless genres of music together, Kanye West's rap, Santigolds raw sound, the sweet voice of Lykki Li and the beats made by N.A.S.A. Combined with Steve Aoki's electronic taste of music one of the best racks of 2009 was created.

N.A.S.A.- Gifted feat. Kanye West, Santigold & Lykke Li (Steve Aoki Remix)

-We were wondering if there was coming some good music from Russia and this was the answer! Polymorphic made us go wild, this song just says what his music stands for. when you're at a party you must Rock On. Beside this song i have to give his remix of Who Are You? some credits. that song was awesome too.

Polymorphic - Rock on (Original mix)

- The hideous janitor-white-mask-wearing-Frenchman has been in the game for ages. And now he's dead.... But actually he's not, so the Cyberpunkers decided to remix the sheit out of his record Toxic Is Dead.

Toxic Avenger - Toxic is dead (Cyberpunkers remix)

- And from the Dubstep corner... we have Udachi. An Americano, from NY, NY.
This song got some edgy tune in it that i cannot get out of my head. Every time i listen to it the sounds stays in my head for like 2 or 3 days. And well Dubstep? I think it is just orchestrated chaos.

Udachi - Jellyroll

- When this track hit the clubs, all the way back at the start of this year, it hit them all! At all the good gigs anyways. The crazy woman's voice with her 'I'm miss independent'-lyrics gave the song its own character. But the best thing about it is that its about 'shoes' and it got a groovy tune to move your funky shoes own to go with it. During this track our shoes barely stayed on our feet!

Tiga - Shoes (Mr. Oizo Remix)

- We agreed on putting 10 songs in this list. So 'officially INVADERS MUST DIE is in this list. But of course what we actually mean is the whole freaking album. These old timers were quiet for a while but then came back with a bang. This certainly is an OMEN: the're gonna bring some THUNDER to to our WARRIOR's DANCE on. And after which they can TAKE ME TO THE HOSPITAL. These are big words, but their all fantastic ear-p*rn material! Here are the best songs remixed:

The Prodigy - Omen (Herve's End Of The World Remix)

The Prodigy - Thunder  (Bang Gang Remix)

The Prodigy - Warrior's dance (South Central Remix)

The Prodigy - Invaders must die (Original)

The Prodigy - Take me to the hospital (Rusko Remix)

Punk-Rolla

I Have To Admit It's Getting Better!!!! Oh Yeah, I finally found a good remix of a good Beatles song, the song is called 'Getting Better' and is remixed by Punk-Rolla. I also got a nice remix of Empire Of The Sun's Walking On A Dream. And yes i know! it has been remixed for a zillion times but i don't care, this one is good.

Punk-Rolla - Getting Better

Empire Of The Sun - Walking On A Dream (Punk-Rolla Remix)

But i got more, maybe they are old but what the hell they are good! A song by Les Petits Pilous called Dodo Electro. The Prodigy with a song called Mescaline, it's from their Invaders Must Die E.P. and i got Colourless Colour of La Roux remixed by The Subs. Me like

Les Petits Pilous - Dodo Electro

The Prodigy - Mescaline

La Roux - Colourless Colour(The Subs Popup Mix)

Review: The Prodigy

The prodigy Invaders Must Die Tour dropped by the Heineken Music Hall Monday the 23.
Their support act Enter Shikari combined their grunting metal rock together with a little dubstep and even some old Dutch Hardcore music. Even so the crowd was just trickling in as the band was jumping up and down the stage like a couple of rockstar-pikeys. After an intermission with some background music to get us in the mood (The Bloody Beetroots et al.), flashy lights started to blind the first row of groupies . . . and thy jumping began...
And if these British muscle-shirt wearing maniacs drop by you don't go sit on the chairs at the back of the HMH. Thats also what MC Maxim Reality thought and said: " YOU PEOPLE IN THE BACK" ..... {people in the back go wild} ..... "FUCK YOU!". At least thats what I thought he said, and sure he is. If you go to the prodigy you want to jump around till even your sweat drops sweat. And so we did!
The Prodigy perfectly put together tracks from Invaders Must Die with classics like smack my bitch up, voodoo people and fire starter. They played the crowd very well; they created moshpits just by telling people to & created one of the biggest 'sit-downs' I ever took part in [see video]. At the end some of the sound equipment failed epically and brought a sudden stop to the performance. Nonetheless it was a seamless flow of Electropunk! (another point checked off of my 'things to do in life'-list) Thank you The Prodigy!

And as a bonus i got you two dubstep remixes of the prodigy!!!

The Prodigy - Take Me To The Hospital(Rusko Remix)

The Prodigy - Warrior's Dance (Benga Remix)
